Labor Day: three parks, two posted gates, pack turf shoes and water

Saturday and Sunday, Sept 5–6: Lake Elsinore (TCS, 10U–18U), Perris (USSSA, 10U–18U), Simi Valley (USSSA, 10U–14U).

Good morning. Three parks this weekend, Lake Elsinore, Perris, and Simi, and I am sending the gates and shoe rules now so you can pack before times post Wednesday night. Thursday update coming.

Parent

Heat is the job this weekend, not rain. Put a bottle on her hip before you leave the lot. Give her water at least every 15 to 20 minutes, in the shade if you can, and take pads off on the break. Eat real food through the day. Fluids before, during, after. Energy drinks are not hydration. If she has not been in the heat for a week, ease in over several days instead of grinding the first hot park. If the day is too hot, change the plan.

Player

After each pitch, run it once: what you saw, what you did, what happened. Then let it go. One replay, not a loop when you step back in. Lake Elsinore is turf. The city says no metal cleats. TCS says 14U and up can wear them. Pack both pairs and ask the TD before warm-ups. For Perris and Simi, bring the shoes you already trust until a metal line is posted. Warm up in turf shoes first if you are not sure.

Lake Elsinore, TCS Labor Day Season Opener at Rosetta Canyon, 10U–18U: $5 if you are 13 or older, players and under 12 free, enter between the red/blue or green/orange gates, turf shoes. Perris, USSSA at Big League Dreams, 10U–18U: park youth policy is $10 at 13 and up, uniformed players free, hand stamp to come back, no outside food.
